Call for applications: Scholarships for development-related postgraduate courses

The goal of the initiative over the next few years is to create 100.000 jobs and 30.000 training places in Africa, to improve local working conditions, and to promote sustainable economic growth.

The initiative is currently being implemented in Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia.

The BMZ has mandated the following organisations to implement the special initiative on training and job creation: the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the KfW Development Bank, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and the development agencies Foundation for Economic Development and Vocational Training (SEQUA) and Engagement Global Service for Development Initiatives.

Very good graduates with a first university degree and with at least two years of related professional experience after the first degree (bachelor) get the chance to obtain a master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance to the development of their home country in the various fields.

Within this special initiative DAAD offers scholarships for selected master's courses within the programme scheme "Development Related Postgraduate Courses". Please consult the brochure for more information regarding the programme.
