New home in sight for NIMAR Rabat

The Netherlands Institute in Morocco is moving to a new location in the Moroccan capital of Rabat. Following the complete refurbishment of the new NIMAR building, its doors will open in September 2016.

Designed for study and researchThe new building is the next step towards creating an attractive and professional setting for NIMAR’s teaching and research activities in Rabat. It will provide outstanding teaching facilities, meeting rooms and study spaces for researchers. The building will also serve as a library. The teaching facilities will be on the ground and first floors, and the staff offices on the second floor.

Important moment

On 30 January 2016, Dutch Ambassador to Morocco Ron Strikker signed the rental contract for the new building on behalf of Carel Stolker, Rector Magnificus of Leiden University, with the building’s owner Said Zniber.
