Cleveringa lecture in Rabat
Recently, the parents association succeeded in establishing a center for schooling and care. Together, they worked on different themes, based on needs identified by caregivers in the parents association. To further investigate these needs, Professor Maretha De Jonge conducted a study comparing the situations of caregivers in urban and rural areas in Morocco. This lecture will reflect on the study results and practical experience gained. It will also cover steps taken and future plans for sharing knowledge and empowering caregivers and professionals in Morocco and the Netherlands.
Foundation Nour
As the chair of foundation “Nour” Professor Maretha De Jonge supports a project founded by parents and professionals in Ouarzazate Morocco. The main goal of this project is to provide care and education for children with developmental disorders and their families. She is dedicated to ensuring that the exchange of knowledge is a multidirectional process enriching all collaborative partners, aimed at ameliorating care and understanding for families raising children with developmental disorders.
Cleveringa
This lecture is part of the Cleveringa meetings held all over the world, organized by the Leiden University Fund in collaboration with the regional committees. On November 26th 1940, Professor Cleveringa, dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Leiden, held a speech in which he stood up against the measure to fire the Jewish professors. In remembrance of this famous protest speech, scientists of Leiden are holding interesting lectures around the world since 1946.
