Book presentation: “Senses in Arabia” by Ahlam Gharbaoui

The Netherlands Institute in Morocco (NIMAR) and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Morocco are delighted to extend an invitation to you for a book presentation featuring the works of Moroccan-Dutch author Ahlam Gharbaoui. We are honored to host Ms. Gharbaoui as she introduces her esteemed work, 'Senses in Arabia'. The event will take place on Friday, May 17 at 2:00 PM at Espace Kitab (SIEL).

"Senses in Arabia" is a literary masterpiece that seamlessly blends the poetic expressions of Ahlam Gharbaoui, a talented Moroccan-Dutch writer with an extraordinary eye for detail and a powerful voice, Ahlam invites readers on an unforgettable journey through the bustling streets of Amsterdam to the vibrant markets of Marrakech, and from the grand halls of power to the humblest homes. Speaker Ahlam Gharbaoui

Ahlam Gharbaoui, a Dutch-Moroccan businesswoman, founded her first company at the age of 24 in the Netherlands, establishing a network of over 800 interpreters. With more than 15 years of experience in the UAE, she has established the world's largest oil & gas educational center, served as the General Manager of an American multinational in the GCC, and acted as an advisor at the Dutch embassy. She was awarded for her role in supporting international partnerships in the MENA region. Additionally, she is an acclaimed author and poet.

Moderator Hassnae Bouazza

Hassnae Bouazza (1973) is a Moroccan-Dutch journalist, writer, columnist, translator and program maker. She studied English language and literature at Utrecht University. Bouazza writes columns for Vrij Nederland and Frontaal Naakt and is a program maker at the VPRO. She is the director of the NTR documentary series Sex and Sin (2014), conceived, compiled and presented by Femke Halsema, about women in Islam.
