Crossings: Human Mobilities and Its Consequences Across the Mediterranean, 1400-2022
NIMAR will host a conference (24-26 May 2023) and a summer school (22-26 May 2023) entitled “Crossings: Human Mobilities and Its Consequences Across the Mediterranean, 1400-2022”
The conference addresses the idea of crossing the Mediterranean between the 15th and 21ste centuries, with a thematic focus on Migration and Trafficking; Conflict, Slavery and Exploitation; Culture and Religion; Identities; Memory and Heritage. Senior and junior scholars from Africa, Eurasia and Europe can send their proposals until 20 December 2022. The summer school provides training for young career scholars (PhD’s and Postdoctoral candidates) in the areas of developing a career in academia and translation of academic skills into a broad labour market. Yong researchers who are willing to bridge the historiographical gap between Western and Global South historiographies and approaches are invited to find all information about application in the call.
