Minor Business opportunities in the MENA region (Study trip)
On a study trip to Morocco a group of International Business Management students from NHL Stenden in Leeuwarden visited the NIMAR on Friday April 20th. The study trip is part of the minor Business opportunities in the MENA region, which started as pilot in February in cooperation with the campus in Doha.
The students were received at the NIMAR premises where Professor Léon Buskens, the director of the institute, gave an introductory speech followed by a lecture entitled “Gender and civil society”.
Afterwards Mr. Adil Raitab, senior trade officer at the Dutch embassy, gave a presentation targeting the role of the embassy in Morocco and more specifically the function of the economic department. Reflecting all the assistance offered by the embassy to Dutch entrepreneurs who want to establish a business in Morocco.
This presentation was followed by a lecture of Mr. Younes Idrassi, business advisor, it had as objective introducing the students to the Moroccan business environment and the business opportunities in Morocco. Starting with the country profile and the main metrics about economic performance of Morocco, the lecture made the audience aware of the most important sectors and industries that show a soaring potential of growth in Morocco, and the governmental programs adopted to foster local and foreign investments in Moroccan economy.
