Thesis Award in Islamic Law: Submission Deadline – March 1, 2025
RIMO Thesis Award 2024-2025 is a unique opportunity for students to showcase their academic work and win a prestigious prize.
The RIMO Award is presented biennially to encourage research in the field of Islamic and Middle Eastern law. Students from Dutch or Belgian universities, as well as students from foreign universities who write about topics related to the Netherlands or Belgium, are eligible to apply.
Key details about the award
- Prize: €500.00 and a research stay at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Germany.
- Honorary invitation: The winner will present their research at the annual RIMO symposium, and their text will be published in Recht van de Islam.
- Eligibility requirements:
- Students from Dutch or Belgian universities, as well as students from foreign universities who write about topics related to the Netherlands or Belgium, are eligible to apply.
- Submissions can include theses, journal articles, or other academic works.
- Participants must not have been older than 35 years at the time of writing their submission.
Evaluation criteriaThe jury will evaluate entries based on originality, composition, social relevance, and language use.
